We have the opportunity to be living in a country where charity has deep cultural roots and is part of the day to day life. There are well organized charity shops everywhere, there’s a charity box in most supermarkets, there are volunteers involved in many projects and we are often asked at the cash desks whether we wouldn’t like to add an extra pound to the final bill in supporting a certain non-profit organisation. The United Kingdom is an example to be followed worldwide when it comes to volunteering and supporting noble causes.
